Mirror Service

August 7th, 2013 by brian

We have a mirror service primarily used internally here at Angani but we are leaving it open to the public. Only debian i386 and amd64 packages are available at the moment but we also have CentOS and Ubuntu in the pipeline for this week.

To use it, modify your /etc/apt/sources.list to something like this:

deb http://mirror.angani.co/debian/ wheezy main
deb http://mirror.angani.co/debian/ wheezy-updates main contrib
deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib

The speeds are pretty decent especially from providers who have an open local loop policy 🙂

$ wget http://mirror.angani.co/debian/pool/main/l/linux/linux-image-3.10-1-486_3.10.3-1_i386.deb

We are syncing off the KENET mirror(http://debian.mirror.ac.ke) and if you are not already using them, check them out too.
